Meet The Founder
In 1999, I was working as a technology consultant in the dental industry and was invited to be a part of a short-term dental mission team to Romania. The team set up two dental clinics and provided dental care for over 800 people. Those two weeks dramatically changed the direction of my life.
For more than a quarter of a century now, I have been involved in serving through missions and non-profit efforts, allowing me to experience cultures in Eastern Europe, Jamaica, and Africa.
It was in 2015 that a question came to me.
Why do so many communities remain trapped in poverty despite decades of effort and trillions of dollars funded around the world?
I became convinced that poverty was not simply about a lack of resources. It was about a lack of structural conditions that allow people to fully realize their potential.
I began listening to the people who live these realities every day. Their experiences revealed something powerful. Before families can build a different future, they must first have stability. Before they can pursue new opportunities, they must be able to imagine them. Before dreams can be achieved, they must first be believed possible.
That realization became the foundation of Transform Through WE.
But our vision extends beyond the effort itself.
When the right environment is created, a village ceases to be viewed solely by its challenges and begins to be recognized for its potential.
It becomes a place where resources can be invested more effectively, create measurable impact, and new opportunities can emerge and grow. A place where hope is transformed into progress.
My dream has never been to create another relief program. It has been to help create a model that enables communities to move beyond dependency and toward self-determination. A model that allows philanthropic resources to create lasting change and then move on to help the next community that is ready to begin the same journey.
Transform Through WE was started on the belief that every community has potential. Sometimes that potential simply needs a helping hand in the beginning to emerge.
